School Of Nursing: Render Quality Nursing Care

School Of Nursing was founded on 21st May 1924. The School of Nursing is recognized by Haryana Nurses & Nurse Midwives Council, Panchkula. Regular admission is made once a year in October.

Our School of Nursing is a professional school which functions within the philosophy and framework of the Indian nursing council, Delhi.

We believe in the concepts laid down by the World Health Organization (WHO), i.e. Health is a state of complete mental, physical as well as social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.

A diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery is a formal 3 years Course & that prepares students who can render quality nursing care in the community and hospital with a holistic and scientific approach.

The diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery course aims to equip the students with advanced and basic knowledge, which will enable the assessment of health needs, preparation of healthcare plans, nursing diagnosis and evaluation and develop the skill to carry out our nursing procedures effectively and to become an efficient team member. This course serves as a base for their higher studies, which will enhance their personal and professional growth to become a valuable and productive citizen of the country.

Student Facilities

Hostel

Hostel facilities are provided to the students. The hostellers must join the mess. Students are involved in the mess committee to decide about the menu & quality of the food.. Well-balanced hygienic food will be provided. Payment for the food is to be made in advance every month in the accounts department. Mess charges are liable to change with a month's notice. Recreation facilities are provided in the hostel. Students are guided to use their leisure time creatively, positively and meaningfully.

Religious Life

The religious convictions of all students are respected. This is a Christian institution, and daily morning worship is held in the chapel.

Extra-Curricular Activities

The institution has facilities for indoor & outdoor games. A spacious playground exists on the hospital campus. We organize annual sports and also organize a competition with outside teams. To promote holistic personality development, students are encouraged to participate in Christmas plays, inter-class contests, on-the-spot competitions, debates, seminars, etc. This provides an opportunity to express their hidden talents and explore their potential.

The hospital provides complete health care to students during the training period.

The institution provides library facilities for the students for extra references. Our library has spacious seating arrangements with books and journals related to modern medical technologies.

Scholarship

Founder Jessica Carlton Scholarship for best all-rounder student will be given in 1" year. Deserving students will be granted scholarships under the conditions that they are economically poor but academically excellent.

How To Apply?

The blank application form is attached to the Prospectus. All applications must be made on this prescribed form only. Completed applications in all respect must be submitted by hand or sent under Registered A.D cover, addressed to Director, Philadelphia Hospital, Ambala City 134003. An incomplete application form or application form received after the stipulated date will be rejected.

The following documents/paperwork should be attached to the application form:
1. Attested copies of the educational qualification with mark sheets.
2. Attested copies of a testimonial from the head attended of the previous educational institution.
3. Photographs as mentioned in the application form.
4. A certificate in the form of an undertaking from the parent/guardian /sponsoring authority promising to meet all financial obligations of the prospect during the training.
5. An eligibility /equivalency corticated is needed (if required).
6. List of visitors with photographs of the visitors and specimen signatures (Three Copies) for girls availing hostel facility.
7. Medical fitness certificate from the Philadelphia Hospital.
Note: Medical fitness examination shall be conducted after the interview on payment of Rs. 500/- by our Hospital Doctors.

Admission

Regular admission is made once a year in October.
Eligibility criteria for admission :

Notes:

1. Candidate who is found to be medically fit will be considered for admission.
2. Original documents should be produced at the time of the interview. Incomplete applications of the candidates will not be considered for an interview.
3. No travelling allowance will be given to the candidates coming for the interview or joining the school. The school does not provide lodging for candidates or their relatives appearing for an interview.
4. Any student who fails to join on the given date will lose their seat.
5. If the provisional certificate of 10+2 is produced at the interview, the candidate must have the proper original certificate at the time of admission.
6. If the certificate/affidavit submitted by the candidate at any level of the course is found false, she will be expelled from training and liable for legal action.
7. If any student is expelled from the training due to submitting a false certificate/affidavit here, case u/s 420 will be sent to the Police.

For GNM (F):

1. 10+2 or equivalent examination with Arts / Science subject from a recognized Board/University. Preference will be given to Science Students.
2. Minimum 40% marks in aggregate (relaxable by 5% for SC/ST/BC/Children of deceased/ disabled and discharged military personnel /Ex-servicemen).
3. Hindi up to 10th standard and English up to 10+2 are compulsory.
4. Age is not less than 17 years and more than 35 years on the admission date.
5. Only unmarried candidates are eligible. Widow / Divorcee without encumbrances can also apply.
6.No relaxation for MPHW (F) & 10+2 Vocational ANM.
7. Students shall be medically fit.

Interview:

Candidates will be selected on merit according to the marks obtained in the 10+2 class.

The decision of the authorities at the School of Nursing will be final. Only selected candidates will be informed.

Prospectus Application Forms

All candidates seeking admission in any course must obtain a copy of the prospectus against payment of Rs. 500/- at the Counter or by Money order/ Demand Draft of Rs. 600/- payable to the Director, Philadelphia Hospital, Ambala City. Postal Orders are not accepted. The Money Order/ Demand Draft must mention the name of the course for which a prospectus is required.
